Energy Sprout Superfood Shake

This is Easy Living Foods LLC signature product because it’s why I started the company back in 2009.  I started drinking this after having 2 months of radiation and concurrent chemotherapy treatments.  This Superfood Shake, I believe, is a main reason I did not have a reoccurrence from Stage IV Cancer.  It’s alive, alkalizing, protein rich and fatty acid rich.  It’s a complete meal.  I feel energy in five minutes after drinking even ½ oz.

I based the recipe on Ann Wigmore’s Energy Soup from 1978. My mission is to share nutritional wealth and that’s why I’m offering my signature recipe here.  When I first started drinking this, I could only drink a tablespoon at a time because my stomach chemistry wasn’t used to it.  So, start slow and build up if you need to.  If you don’t have time to make it, you can buy this at our new Cafe and Juice Bar in Novato or at the San Rafael Sunday Farmers’ Market.

Time to prepare: 5 minutes a day to grow and rinse sprouts, 20 minutes to prep blend and store plus cleanup

Makes: 7 ½ cups

Serves: 6 each – 10oz servings

Equipment:  Vitamixer


2 apples chopped

1 cup sprouted lentils and mung beans

2 cups sunflower sprouts

2 cups pea shoots

1 cucumber chopped

2 cups kale, parsley, celery, chard, spinach or collards

¼ cup lemon juice

1 tbsp kelp powder

1 tbsp soaked hemp seeds

1 tsp soaked chia seeds

½ tsp vanilla

¼ tsp pink Himalayan salt

½ avocado


How to make

Grow the sprouts or purchase them.  Mix combinations based on what’s available to you and the seasons.  Same with the green use what’s freshest and what you like.

Soak the hemp and chia seeds in water, just to cover the seeds, for a minimum of thirty minutes.

Prep the ingredients into smaller pieces to easily blend.

Add all the ingredients except the avocado in the Vitamixer and blend until smooth.  Add the avocado last and blend for just 15 seconds until smooth.

Taste and adjust if needed.

I store in daily amounts, quarts for me, filling each quart to the top so there is little air in the jar.  Refrigerate and enjoy!

Options:  I take out the raw kale when I don’t want a goitergenic food.
