Our Moroccan Lentil Soup offers you a traditional flavor while using a novel method of preparation. Our Moroccan Consulting Chef comments, “I’m amazed that you were able to achieve such an authentic taste and texture without cooking any of the ingredients.” The Moroccan Lentil Soup contains seven vegetables, creating a rich, flavorful stock to which we add a source of protein in the form of sprouted lentils and sprouted sunflower seeds. A final dash of cinnamon aids in balancing the blood sugar.

The sprouted lentils featured in this soup are extremely potent and beneficial compared to cooked or un-sprouted ‘dormant’ lentils. Dormant seeds have digestive inhibitors which protect the seeds. After seeds germinate, the digestive inhibitors are released and the nutrients from within the seed become fully bioavailable. The life and phytonutrients of sprouted lentils will give life to your body when eaten raw. Sprouted lentils contain some of the highest levels of protein in foods and legumes, and are also high in vitamin C and iron.

Preparation Instructions

Prepare with boiling water if you want a quicker soup that is partially cooked (and has a more traditional taste). Empty the packet into the container and fill with water up to the embossed line on the inside of the
container. Stir, replace the lid on the container and let it steep for 3 to 5 minutes before eating.

Alternatively, for RAW, prepare with warm water (half room temperature plus half boiling water reaches a temperature of about 140 degrees F) and let it steep twice as long. Note: when adding 140F water, the temperature of
the food content will not exceed 120 F, so it stays raw!

This soup requires one cup of water to be added to the dry mixture.

Flavor TIP:

The longer you let the Moroccan Lentil Soup steep, the more flavorful it will be.
