Our delicious Mushroom Onion Soup combines Crimini, Shiitake and Porcini mushrooms for a full-bodied mushroom flavor. Drying mushrooms is an age old method for preservation for use throughout the year. That is one reason why we knew that mushrooms would be perfect in our raw instant soups and meals. Drying mushrooms at low temperatures preserves the flavor, nutrients, enzymes and micronutrients, which increases the nutrient density, compared to drying at high heat or cooking mushrooms.

Farm Fresh

Our Crimini Mushrooms are sourced locally from Monterey Mushrooms, a farm in Monterey, CA. The sweet onion flavor in the soup comes from onions grown in the fields near Fresno, CA, which are then dried at low temperatures.

Package Information

Each package yields a 9 oz soup. Each package contains 4.5 Vegetable Servings, which is 150% of the USDA Recommended Vegetable Servings per Day. How fantastic is this! The shelf life is one year.

Preparation Instructions

Prepare with boiling water if you want a quicker soup that is partially cooked (and has a more traditional flavor). Empty the packet into the container and fill with water up to the embossed line on the inside of the container. Stir, replace the lid on the container and let it steep for 3 to 5 minutes before eating.

Alternatively, for RAW, prepare with warm water (half room temperature plus half boiling water reaches a temperature of about 140 degrees F) and let it steep twice as long. Note: wWhen adding 140 F water, the temperature of the food content will not exceed 120F, so it stays raw!)

This soup requires one cup of water to be added to the dry mixture.

Flavor TIP:

The longer you let the Mushroom Onion Soup steep, the more flavorful it will be. Adding a little more salt will also bring through the mushroom flavor more.
